US Consumer Privacy Notice

The following Consumer Privacy Notice applies to you if you are an individual who resides in the United States and uses Trustly Pass for your own personal, family, or household purposes.

Why?Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.
What?

The types of personal information we collect and share depend on the product or service you have with us. This information can include:

  • Social Security number and account balances
  • Payment history or transaction history
  • Credit history or credit scores

When you are no longer our customer, we continue to share your information as described in this notice.

How?All financial companies need to share customers’ personal information to run their everyday business. In the section below, we list the reasons financial companies can share their customers’ personal information; the reasons Trustly chooses to share; and whether you can limit this sharing.

To limit our sharing
To limit our sharingYou may limit our sharing by opting out of Trustly Pass.  Please note:  When you become a Trustly Pass user we begin to share information associated with your account. When you are no longer a user of Trusty Pass, we continue to share your information as described in this notice.

Who is providing this Privacy Statement?This privacy notice is provided by Trustly Inc. and applies to your Trustly Inc. interactions in the United States.
What we do
How does Trustly protect my personal information?To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.
How does Trustly collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • open an account or provide account information
  • use your credit or debit card or give us your contact information
  • use Trustoly to send or receive funds

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes — information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing. See below for more information on your rights under state law.

Definitions
AffiliatesCompanies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.
Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Nonaffiliates with which we share personal information include service providers that perform services or functions on our behalf.
Joint Marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • Our joint marketing partners may include financial companies and banks.
Other important information

California: The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) permits consumers who are California residents to ask businesses covered under the CCPA about Personal Information it has collected about the consumer, submit an access or deletion request, and opt-out of the sale of Personal Information, if applicable. These provisions do not apply to personal information collected, processed, shared, or disclosed by financial institutions pursuant to federal law such as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.

Vermont: If your Trustly account has a Vermont mailing address, We will not disclose information about your creditworthiness to our affiliates and will not disclose your personal information, financial information, credit report, or health information to nonaffiliated third parties to market to you, other than as permitted by Vermont law, unless you authorize us to make those disclosures. 

Nevada: If your Trustly Account has a Nevada mailing address, we are providing this notice pursuant to Nevada law.
